Russian president requests summit with Europe

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has called for a pan-European summit to draw up a common security treaty in the region.Medvedev made the call in the face of US plans to deploy missile defence in Central Europe.At the time, he was meeting his Italian counterpart Giorgio Napolitano in the Kremlin, where ... ...two discussed a common European security policy.Medvedev first voiced the idea to sign a legally binding European security treaty at a pan-European conference during his official visit to Germany in early June.He said then that any new security arrangements should be based on pure national interests, not skewed by ideological motives.He added that organisations operating in the Euro-Atlantic region should also have the opportunity to join.Moscow has strongly opposed the US plans to deploy 10 interceptor missiles in Poland and a radar station in the Czech Republic, calling the project a threat to its security and nuclear deterrence.Russian president requests summit with EuropeWhat is america doing in Europe.. In other words US is putting China against Europe & Russia.Euro - You may have a point. Seems to me though that Russia China cornering the gas and oil. We are now becomeing ever dependant on these resorces. Cant have Russia China becomeing too friendly.
