Japanese foreign minister to tour Vietnam

HANOI, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura will make an official trip to Vietnam on July 25 to boost bilateral ties, and seek new measures to implement agreements reached by the two countries, the foreign ministry said Thursday. During his visit, Komura will co-chair ... second meeting of the Vietnam-Japan Cooperation Committee and hold talks with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem, Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Le Dung said at a regular press briefing. According to the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, Komura is scheduled to attend the signing ceremony of the exchange of notes of a human resource scholarship project during his one-day visit. Vietnam and Japan have signed a number of agreements, including those on annual official development assistance, aviation, avoidance of double taxation, technical cooperation, investment promotion and protection, and science and technology cooperation.
