Locals had blocked the highway when four pedestrians were killed in Amarapuri by a bus on Saturday.

Yesterday, a meeting was held among families of the victims, transportation entrepreneurs and the police administration at the Kawasoti Police Station to settle down the issue.

At least eight public vehicles were vandalised yesterday by the locals in Rajhar, Nawalparasi, for defying the strike.

Meanwhile, thousands of passengers were stranded along the highway because of the highway blockade.
