President to call on CA for govt formation

KATHMANDU, Aug 9 - President Dr Ram Baran Yadav is calling on the Constituent Assembly (CA) to take initiatives for forming a new government.The President will call on the CA on Sunday since the CPN-Maoist, as the single largest party in the CA, failed to form a new government based ... ...national consensus even by the extended deadline.According to the President's office, President Yadav will send a letter to the CA Secretariat about the official request. The model of the letter has already been prepared, the office informed.The Interim Constitution provides that if a consensual government is not formed, the party able to secure a majority in the CA can form the government.No consensus was forged even on the last minute as both the CPN-Maoist and the NC maintained their claim on the Ministry of Defense.
