Prachanda, Shrestha discuss political impasse

KATHMANDU, June 13 - Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and Unity Centre-Masal General Secretary Narayan Kaji Shrestha Friday discussed ways to end the political deadlock.During the meeting at Prachanda's Nayabzaar residence, the duo is said to have reached an understanding to continue parleys with the political parties with maximum flexibility in a bid to forge a common agreement.According to Shrestha, the two parties have also agreed to quit the government and launch pressurising agitation if no headway was made within 2-3 days even after displaying more flexibility.The leaders also concluded that the Nepali Congress became the main obstacle in the formation of a new government, Shrestha said.The duo agreed to forge a consensus at the earliest since the lack of agreement among the parties have delayed the process of nominating 26 Constituent Assembly (CA) members and drafting of a new constitution which has lowered the country's reputation.
