PM formally resigning today

KATHMANDU, July 23 - Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala is resigning formally form his post on Wednesday.A source at Baluwatar reported that the octogenarian leader will reach Presidential residence at Shital Niwas to table his resignation once President Dr Ram Baran Yadav takes the oath of office and secrecy.PM Koirala ... ...previously announced to resign from his post during the Constituent Assembly meet.Meanwhile, a meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by PM Koirala for the last time was held at Baluwatar today.After reviewing the tasks completed by the interim government, today's cabinet meeting had decided that PM Koirala would officially tender his resignation.Although the current government would be dissolved once the President approves the PM's resignation, the existing Council of Ministers will continue to work as a caretaker government until a new government is formed.
