One more dies of diarrhoea in Sunsari

SUNSARI, Sept 8 - One more elderly person displaced by the Koshi floods died on Sunday in Sunsari district raising the death toll to 17. Mohammed Isman, 55, of Haripur-8 died of diarrhoea and high fever while undergoing treatment at Birat Nursing Home in the district yesterday.

Meanwhile, the government has mobilised teams of health professionals to control diseases in the camps. 29 teams have been working in the camps in Inaruwa and 41 in Koshi area. The teams include two dozen doctors and 130 health workers.

A team that includes women health workers has been sent to the camps and they have started to administer vaccines against chickenpox and polio, and vitamin A to children.
