Nepal into finals of ICC Cricket World Cup

Nepal’s U-19 National Cricket team, on Tuesday, in a thriller, clinched a 4 run-victory over Namibia to earn a berth in the finals of the Plate Championship of ICC U/19 Cricket World Cup being played in Malaysia.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, Nepal made 143 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 34 overs. Skipper Paras Khadka made 44 runs, while Anil Mandal scored 23 and Raj Shrestha 18 runs.

In reply, Namibia almost reached the target, but was bowled out tallying 139 runs in 34 overs. The Nepali bowlers were efficient with Raj Shrestha, Paras Khadka and Rahul Vishwakarma taking two wickets apiece while Sagar Khadka and Amrit Bhattarai took one wicket each.

Nepal will now face Zimbabwe in the finals of the Plate Championship on March 2.
