NC-UML-MPRF alliance will not break: Oli

KATHMANDU, July 25 - Senior CPN (UML) leader KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the alliance among the Nepali Congress (NC), the CPN-UML and Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF) would not break down at any cost.He said the NC-UML-MPRF alliance would form a new government under its leadership."The alliance will ...
...break. Rather it will further expand," Oli said at an interaction organized by Reporters' Club Nepal in the capital on Thursday, adding, "All the 25 parties should join the alliance, form the new government and start work on framing the new constitution. He also said that the party that gets the post of Prime Minister, should not claim other important ministries. He claimed that the UML was ready to give up key ministries if it gets the post of PM. Oli also claimed that the situation at present was not favorable for forming a government under Maoist leadership."The UML is ready and able to lead the government. The government should be formed under the leadership of our (UML) General Secretary [Jhala Nath Khanal]," Oli said.According to him, the government should be formed by consensus and the UML is able to create a conducive atmosphere for that. Urging the Maoists to join the new government, he pledged that the Maoists would be given ministries as per their choice. No one should be afraid of the three-party alliance as it has been formed with a view to creating a comprehensive consensus, he said. He, however, maintained that an alliance of the UML and Maoists alone was impossible. He suggested to others not to be under any "illusion of left-alliance". "The three-party alliance will last until the new constitution is ready. All the 25 parties should join it," he added.Oli termed reports about the forming of a new government under MPRF leadership as baseless. "The agreement was to form a national government," he said.
