...meeting held at the UML parliamentary party office at Singha Durbar.The three party leaders signed a seven-point agreement on the formation of the new government.Maoist Chairman Dahal, UML Genral Secretary Jhala Nath Khanal have signed the agreement paper.The first point of the agreement states that a national consensus government with the support of the fringe parties would be formed under the leadership of Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.While agreeing to implement the seven-point agreement reached by the seven-party alliance in the past at the earliest, the three parties also agreed to prepare a common minimum programme for the running of the soon-to-be formed government.The deal also mentions allocating ministerial portfolios through a mutual understanding.Emerging from the meeting, Maoist Chairman Dahal said that the Maoists will go for the Defence Ministry, a major bone of contention of between the Maoists and the Nepali Congress.Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress has registered former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba for Prime Minister.Earlier today, Nepali Congress parliamentary party committee decided to field Deuba for the prime ministerial election.
