Maoists to concede 2nd rank to UML

KATHMANDU, Aug 28 - CPN (Maoist) has in principle agreed to provide the CPN-UML second position in the order of precedence in the Maoist-led government. Maoist Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal agreed to the UML's demand during a meeting with senior UML leader Bam Dev Gautam on Wednesday.

...two parties haven't reached a formal agreement over the issue, the Maoists have in principle agreed to provide the UML second position in the government," said UML leader Bhim Rawal.

He said both parties will soon hold a meeting to reach a formal agreement over the issue.

The UML, a major coalition partner, has refused to join the Maoist-led government without second position in the government.
