Maoists ask PM Dahal not to limit his India visit to formality only
KATHMANDU, Sept 5 - CPN-Maoist central committee members Friday urged Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal not to reach any agreement that would be against the country’s interest during his upcoming India visit.
In a meeting held at the PM’s Residence at Baluwatar, the central committee members asked Dahal to put forward ...
Saying that the visit should not be limited to mere formality, the members advised the PM to focus on the nation’s interests during talks with his Indian counterpart.
Meanwhile, the members suggested the finance minister to come up with a progressive budget that will leave its mark on the people.
The members said that the failure to come up with such a budget will not prove the significance of the Maoists leading the government.
Saying that transparency was not maintained while appointing ministers from the party, some members criticised the leadership.
Meanwhile, Dahal presented a political review of all events following the presidential election and formation of the Maoist-led government.
Dahal said that the government policies and programmes, upcoming budget and matters for his India visit will be prepared taking into account all suggestions.
