Maoist Cadre Shot Dead in Kapilvastu

Kapilvastu, August 28:

An unidentified gang gunned down a Maoist cadre at Shivapur-6 in Kapilvastu on Wednesday. Police identified the dead as Ashish Gharti, 28, of Shivapur-6.

Another person Chuda Bahadur Khadka, 35, who was injured in the incident, is undergoing treatment in the Butwal-based Lumbini zonal hospital.

According to a local, Ramesh Gharti, a gang of five persons came at Shivapur-6 from south, fired at Ashish and Chuda, and fled.

Talking to mediapersons over phone, a person identifying himself as army commander of the Akhil Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha, claimed responsibility for the incident.
