Locals obstruct East-West highway in Nawalparasi

Mahato, who was rushed to Bharatpur Medical College for treatment, died while undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Medical College in Chitwan district.

One Tarjan Bohara was critically injured in the accident.

The locals and the victim’s kin have obstructed the road demanding compensation for the victim’s family.

Meanwhile, vehicular movement along the East-West Highway in Bansbari of Bardiya district that was obstructed by the relatives of a minor, who was killed in road accident four days back, has not resumed.

Asmita Tharu, 8, a resident of Bansbari in Motipur VDC-8, died on Tuesday when a truck heading for Dhangadi from Butwal rammed her.

According to the police, vehicular movement failed to resume as the agreement could not be made after the relatives demanded Rs 5, 00,000 in compensation.
