The KJWP, which has been launching underground armed movement in the eastern region of the country, has expressed its readiness to find a peaceful political alternative though the government team has not created a favourable environment for dialogue. The armed group has forwarded conditions such as making attempts to reach an agreement through discussion, releasing its cadres under custody and withdrawal of all action proceed against them, invitation to come to talks table by canceling all the protest programmes and fixing date, time and venue for talks after the mutual agreement.
This statement is in response to the government’s invitation for talks.
Earlier, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction and government’s talk team coordinator Janardan Sharman had sent invitation letter to KJWP to come to the negotiation table on October 23.
KJWP, which emerged in 2008, has conducted bombings and extortion drives against Village Development Committees as part of its underground movement in eastern Nepal demanding for the creation of an ethnic Kirat state in eastern Nepal.
