Indian among two killed in Nepal bomb blast

Two persons, including an Indian, were killed and 18 others injured in a roadside bomb blast in southern Nepal, police said on Sunday.The bomb, wrapped in a bag, exploded on Saturday night as passengers were waiting for the bus in Chandranigahapur town of Rautahat district, they said.The Indian has been identified as Lila Devi Kayastha of Jaynagara Rajauli, whereas the identity of another person was not ascertained yet, they said.A little known group calling itself Terai Army has claimed the responsibility for the blast.

The group has called five-day strike along the Mahendra Highway in the district starting from Sunday.Security has been stepped up in the surrounding area after the blast.Eight persons who sustained serious injuries have been admitted to Narayani Sub-regional Hospital in Birgunj for treatment, police said, adding investigations are on.
