Home Ministry looking into Khobhari firing

...that a team of police is looking into the incident on Monday.An inebriated Raya had reportedly fired two rounds of bullet in front of his residence at Thulobharyag in Swayambhu in the capital at around 8.30 Sunday night.

Protesting the incident, locals staged demonstrations from the early morning today.

According to a high-level official at the Police Headquarters, the kind of action to be initiated against the trigger-friendly lawmaker will be finalised after probing the incident.

Meanwhile, the police are trying to find out whether Raya holds license for the weapon he used yesterday.

Raya, the former state minister, has been in controversies for years. Police had arrested him many times on charges of kidnapping individuals, possessing illegal weapons and rape.  In 1998, when he was member of the parliament, Raya had opened fired at one of the discos in the capital under the influence of alcohol.
