Gyanendra took 2 ordinary cars, 2 jeeps

"They are ordinary cars," a senior palace official said on condition of anonymity.The government decision early this week did not categorically say what kind of vehicles Gyanendra could take with him, according to a government source.Government sources also confirmed the number of vehicles Gyanendra took with him but said they are yet to find out the vehicle brands.Though the government has received a tally of the number of vehicles inside the palace they are yet to get exact information on the four wheelers that Gyanendra and his family used before evacuating Narayanhiti.

KATHMANDU, June 13 - Ousted king Gyanendra took four vehicles, including two "ordinary" cars and two jeeps, or double the number of vehicles the government decided to give to the ex-monarch, as he left Narayanhiti Palace Wednesday. There are 66 vehicles inside the palace, officials said." We will check the brand of the vehicles that Gyanendra took with him and if they are found to be other  than ordinary ones, we will ask him to return them and provide him with ordinary cars," the source said on condition of anonymity.Among the vehicles three were used to tra ort the ex-king's belongings while one was used to take him  and his spouse Komal to Nagarjun Palace, the new residence allowed him by the government.‘Only southern gate for entry' Though Gyanendra and Komal have left Narayanhiti Palace, his stepmother and Sarala Manandhar, concubine of Gyanendra's grandfather Tribhuvan, are staying on at the palace, as permitted by the government. So, how will Gyanendra and other ex-royals go to meet Ratna and Sarala now? Government sources said that the ex-royals can meet Ratna and Sarala inside the palace any time they wish but they are required to use only the southern gate near Jaya Nepal cinema, not the main southern gate of the palace."No unauthorized person will be allowed to use the palace main gate to enter Narayanhiti," the source said citing the order by palace security.
