Govt transfers 66 CDOs

KATHMANDU, Oct 20 -  In a major bureaucratic reshuffle after formation of the new government, the Home Ministry on Sunday transferred 102 senior officials under various departments, including those serving as Chief District Officers.According to a source, the Ministry has retained eight Chief District Officers (CDOs) in their respective districts, ...

...11 CDOs have been brought to the ministry on deputation. Likewise, under secretary duo Keshab Acharya and Nagendra Jha of Ministry of Information and Communication and Department of Survey respectively, have been appointed as CDOs. Jha has been appointed CDO of Kapilvastu, while Poudel has been sent to Rolpa.

The ministry has transferred joint secretaries Ganesh Bahadur Khatri and Keshar Bahadur Baniya to Regional Administration Offices in Hetauda and Pokhara respectively. Likewise, joint secretary Bhola Prasad Siwakoti, who was serving as Parsa district CDO, has been appointed as Director General of Department of Prison Management.

The source added that the ministry is doing necessary homework to promote some senior police officials to various positions that are lying vacant and to transfer them.

Delay in government formation had stalled the reshuffle, supposed to have taken place immediately after the Constituent Assembly election. Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam had prepared a transfer list on the recommendation of senior Home Ministry officials. The transfer was announced on Sunday after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal okayed the list with a few changes.
