Govt ready to redefine major parties

The main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) and the fringe parties have been questioning the criteria to call a party a major one since the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) was formed nearly two weeks ago.

PM Dahal is willing to resolve the dispute among the parties concerning the issue of major parties, Khanal said.

The Maoist and UML leaderships discussed the need for the consultations before nomination in the constitutional bodies, the inquiry into the cases of disappeared people and initiating preparations for setting up national restructuring commission during the meeting.

The UML chief said that he asked the PM to be serious towards recent controversial remarks made by Vice President Parmananda Jha.
