...Govinda Bahadur Batala, combatants Keshav Adhikari and Ganga Ram Thapa, who were found guilty by the commission, to be taken strong action against them.Sources claimed that Kham has been indirectly handling the leadership the Maoist 3rd division cantonment at Shaktikhor in Chitwan district despite the Maoist claims that he was expelled from the division.Batala has been detained in Chitwan's prison while Adhikari and Thapa have been absconding. The high-level probe commission met with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala this morning and presented the 150-page report on the case.At the meet, PM Koirala expressed his belief to recommend the implementation of the review and to take action against the culprits, commission chairman Bhandari said.The government had made a three-member probe commission headed by former Supreme Court justice, Rajendra Bhandari, to investigate the case on 22 May.Late businessman Shrestha, a resident of Koteshwor in the capital, was allegedly abducted under the direction of PLA Third Division Commander Kham on April 27, from his home to 'investigate' his possible involvement in the mysterious disappearance of Rs 1.7 million in cash and a firearm from Kham's apartment at Shrestha's house.The apartment was also used as the contact office for the PLA Third Division.
