...to clear “Due to the protests of Teku locals, we had faced some problem in collecting the garbage. But we resumed collection at 1 pm today after reaching an agreement with them,” Shrestha said. The locals had asked the KMC to shift the Teku Transfer Station and not to dump the garbage there for more than 24 hours. He said garbage piled up in Thamel had already been cleared but garbage in Maharajgunj, Chabahil and Putalisadak was yet to be collected.Shrestha also added that the poor condition of road leading to the landfill site had also been causing problems in garbage management.
