From Lumbini Ban leaves for Bangladesh

He further said he hopes that we can learn from his lessons, from his teachings and his philosophy to bring peace, stability, harmony, reconciliation and friendship among people of different beliefs, different religions and cultures. “This is exactly what human beings should promote and pursue for a better world, a more peaceful, more prosperous world.

Earlier today, the UNSG addressed a special meeting of the Constituent Assembly.

The visiting UNSG met President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the latter’s office in Sital Niwas and Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala this morning.

Ban also conferred with CA Chairman Subash Chandra Nemwang and Minister for Foreign Affairs Upendra Yadav.

Ban is the fifth UN Secretary-General to visit Nepal and the first one to address the CA.

The UNSG arrived in Kathmandu from New Delhi yesterday. He is in visit of the South Asian countries.
