KATHMANDU, Oct 22 - The Embassy of France in Nepal announced to donate 500,000 euros to the UN World Food Programme (WFP) for its operation to assist the Koshi displaced in eastern Nepal. French Ambassador to Nepal Gilles-Henri Garault said that the aid, which is over Rs 51.8 million, will ...

...the WFP to ease the difficulties faced by the people in the food-deficit areas due to the floods.

“France’s support comes at critical time when the Koshi flood is no longer in the headlines but people are still very much in need of help” said WFP’s Representative to Nepal, Richard Ragan. “It’s easy for the victims of the Koshi flood to be forgotten but, until they can return to their homes and villages, they will need assistance.  Ensuring that people have enough to eat is crucial to their welfare and recovery”.
