Transportation has come to a grinding halt on the highways in Mechi and Koshi zones due to the strike.
The strike has also affected life in Taplejung, Illam, Jhapa, Morang Sunsari, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Panchthhar and other eastern districts.
No vehicles were seen plying the roads from the East-West highway of Kakarbhitta to the Koshi barrage.
The council has demanded that the government immediately implement the 5-point deal signed with them earlier in March this year and appoint council representatives in the state restructuring commission.
They have also demanded that FLSC activist Raj Kumar who was killed last year be declared a martyr and compensation be provided to his family.
Meanwhile, FLSC activists held Constituent Assembly (CA) chairman Subash Chandra Nemwang under their custody for an hour and released him.
They held him at Fikal of Illam district for defying the strike.
The activists released him following an apology.
