...of their homes and the school's roof to safer places.In another incident, over three dozens villages have been flooded by continuous rains in Saptari district.Over five thousand families have been displaced due to the flooding which has risen up to one meter.The flood has entered the district headquarters, Rajbiraj, after the Bhim embankment at the Khado river broke.The water level has risen up to five meters at the main bazaar in Rajbiraj.Water has entered the district based government offices.After the flooding of the Khado river was blocked by the Indian Kunauli embankment nearby villages Tilati, Launiya, Rampura, Malahaniya, Koiladi and Baganvagakatti among other villages have been flooded.Gobargada village was inundated after the Koshi river overflooded, while villages including Bhardaha, Kortha, Maduwapur, Jogiya and Hanumannagar were submerged due to flooding of the Mahuli river.Similarly, the Balhan river floods have left Mahoba, Belhi, Chanihi, Potwa and Kalyanpur among other villages submerged.Meanwhile, a youth has gone missing after the Kilabe River in Parsa district swept him away on Thursday morning.25-year old Akshay Lal Yadav of Sisiya Baidiya Birta VDC-3 was swept away by the river in Bindabasini VDC when he was trying to cross the river with his friends.Dozens of villages have been hit by floods and landslides destroying properties and displacing hundred of people in the wake of incessant monsoon rainfall in various parts of the country this year.
