End the deadlock: UML to Maoists
KATHMANDU, June 15 - The CPN-UML Sunday asked the CPN-Maoists to take serious initiatives to end the political impasse.The CPN-UML leaders called on the Maoists leaders to seek out ways to end the deadlock with the major political parties locked in disputes over the integration of Maoists combatants, future power-sharing and formation of constitutional and security councils, among other issues.CPN-UML General Secretary and leader Amrit Kumar Bohara, who went to Maoist Chairman Prachanda's Nayabazaar residence this morning, expressed concern about the failure to deal with major agendas including the formation of a new government even after a month have passed since the successful conduction of the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.Bohara informed that they urged the Maoists' to become serious to form the next government as the largest party in the CA.Maoist Chiarman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', leaders Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Mohan Baidaya and Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal' were present at the meeting that lasted for an hour.The UML leaders also drew the attention of Maoist leaders over the continued attacks of the latter's cadres on other party activists.Meanwhile, Maoist Chairman Prachanda and Russian ambassador to Nepal Trofimov Leonidovich Andrei discussed about the latest political situation in Nepal today.
