Dozen injured in Maoists, UML clash

SINDHULI, Oct 31 - More than a dozen cadres of the CPN-Maoists and CPN-UML have been injured in a clash at Kalapaani of Nipaane VDC in Sindhuli district Thursday night.The injured, one of who is said to be in critical condition, are undergoing treatment at a local health post.

...following a dispute over a month old issue of timber smuggling. Last month the UML cadres had accused Maoist leader Ghanashyam Basnet of timber smuggling at a meeting in a local school in Kalapaani.

UML leaders Inchu Lama, Purba Lama, Nime Lama, Maoist cadre Laxman Danuwar including others have been injured in the clash.

Meanwhile, four persons have been taken into police custody for further investigation.
