The arrested, according to police, have been identified as Deepak Chaulagain and Saraswoti Chaulagain of Kavre, Atin Kumar Ale and Bhupal Syantan of Lalitpur, Abhisek Kumar Tiwari of Mahottari, Meraz Mansuri of Rautahat, Ajijul Ansari of India, Sima Sharma of Parsa and Suzan K.C of Kathmandu.
As part of its secret operation dubbed 'Operation Pool'--which was launched to curb rampant smuggling and trafficking of narcotic drugs-- NDCLEU arrested the nine from various parts of the capital. The police also confiscated 833 grams of brown sugar, one motorcycle used for smuggling contraband drugs, Rs 39,000 in cash from those arrested, according to Dibash Raj Udash, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), NDCLEU.
