Combatants ready to accept AISC decision over integration

...guerilla fighters expressed such views during a meeting with the Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Janardhan Sharma, who is an ex-officio member of the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC).

Pratik, sixth division commander of the PLA, said that the Maoist combatants are ready to accept the decision made by the AISC on par with the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA), the Interim Constitution and the seven-point agreement.

He informed that they discussed discharging the disqualified combatants from cantonments who are still staying there.

According to Pratik, 500 combatants, who were disqualified during the verification of the PLA by United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN), are still staying at the cantonments under the sixth division.

It has been learnt that the Maoist leadership sent Minister Sharma, who is also former PLA deputy commander, to the cantonment to inquire about the reported rift among the former Maoist fighters over the integration issue.
