Civil Service Day today

KATHMANDU, Sept 7 - Government employees across the country are observing the Civil Service Day on Sunday.Various programmes including rally and interaction have been organised today to mark the occasion.

This day is celebrated to mark the endorsement of Civil Service Act in 1956 AD (2013 BS).

According to a study, there ...

...some 87,000 civil servants in the country including 9,000 in officer level, 51,000 in assistant level and 27,000 in that of peon and driver.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is handing over a Best Civil Servant award.

Meanwhile, experts have suggested that a white paper must be submitted for a new civil administration though the upcoming budget.
