CIAA urges lawmakers to ratify anti-corruption convention

...Nepal has not ratified the international anti-corruption convention yet.

The CIAA invited the CA members representing different parties to its office today and briefed them about the significance of the UN convention to curb the corruption and abuse of authority rampant in the country.

Nepal signed the international convention on December10, 2003. However, due to delay in its ratification, it has not been implemented yet.

The CA members expressed their commitment to take initiatives for the ratification of the convention as well as extension of the anti-corruption watchdog’s scope.
