CIAA starts investigation into financial irregularities

KATHMANDU, Oct 3 - The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Friday informed that it has started its investigations into Madhya Marshyangdi and Chilime Hydro Power Projects including some important ministries and government bodies.

Acting Commissioner at the CIAA Rit Bahadur Limbu said that the constitutional anti corruption graft body appointed officers to carry out investigations at the agencies after the cases were filed at the CIAA, saying that millions of rupees were abused at the bodies. According to the CIAA, investigations are being carried out at bodies like Ministry of Labour, Department of Labour, Transportation office, Agricultural Development Bank, Nepal Oil Corporation, Bishal Bazzar, Gongabu Bus Park, Bishal Bazzar and Global Fund that works for the control and prevention of HIV AIDS.
