CIAA fiat to public bodies

KATHMANDU, Nov 11 - The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday directed all public corporations to revise legal provisions related to recruitment. The anti-corruption body stated that many corporations have not been impartial while recruiting. The government anti-graft body also directed the corporations to comply with ...

...new directive. According to CIAA spokesperson Ishwori Prasad Paudyal, the anti-graft body has directed the corporations to set up a system of open competition for recruitment of new employees.

In order to make government service inclusive, it has also told the corporations to set aside quotas for women, members of indigenous community, Janajatis, Madhesi, Dalit, disabled and highly marginalised communities.

Likewise, the CIAA also made it clear that the selection processes like interviews and written examinations should be done by experts from other fields. It has also cautioned them to set up a system of re-checking.
