Chinese envoy calls on Maoist Chairman

KATHMANDU, July 16 - Chinese ambassador to Nepal Zheng Xiangling called on Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday and discussed the latest political situation in Nepal. ...government and election of president and vice president among other issues, sources said.It was also said that Dahal informed Xiangling that the parties are holding discussions to reach a common agreement on the formation of a new government Meanwhile, CPN-Maoist Chairman Dahal today said that his party reached close to a consensus with the CPN-UML on electing a common president.Dahal's such remarks came against the backdrop of reports that the Maoists agreed in principle to give the presidential post to the UML.The Maoist Chairman informed that the he asked the UML to find an inclusive candidate for the post of president.Dahal also informed about his meeting with former UML General Secretary and urged him to make an inclusive president.
