Cabinet approves govt policies and programmes

According to the government Spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communications Krishna Bahadur Mahara, the policies and programmes were prepared based on the suggestions put forward by the coalition partners.
Nearly 84-point document of the government policies and programmes includes bringing the peace process to a logical end, writing a new democratic constitution within next two years and operating relief programmes for the Koshi flood victims.
Similarly, the document emphasises the institutional development of the federal democratic republic, inviting the armed groups active in the Terai for the talks, implementation of the agreements made by the government with various groups in the past, resolving the misunderstanding between and betwixt the coalition partners through mutual understanding, bringing about socio-economic transformation and sorting out the issue of PLA integration and rehabilitation among others.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal met with President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and informed latter about the policies and programmes.
President Yadav will present the policies and programmes on behalf of the government at the CA session tomorrow. The document was registered at the Constituent Assembly secretariat today itself.
