Blast at mosque leaves 4 injured

BIRATNAGAR, Oct 5 - An unidentified gang detonated a powerful bomb at a mosque here in Hattimuda VDC ward-9 of Morang district, leaving four persons injured, on Saturday evening. The blast that occurred at around 8.15 pm injured Mohammad Akabal Miya, 18, Mohammad Saddam, 16, Jarina Khatun, 16, and Mohammad ...

...Miya, 23, all of ward-9. They sustained minor injuries on their body parts and are being treated at Koshi Zonal Hospital.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast. Meanwhile, Nazrul Hassan, president of Islami Sangh Nepal, has denounced the attack. He asked the government to take strong action against those involved in the criminal act and urged all Muslims to exercise restraint and keep intact religious harmony. "This is a deliberate attempt to disturb religious harmony," he said. "The government must act tough against the elements behind such acts.
