Another civil war if Maoist-led govt obstructed: Yami

KATHMANDU, Aug 9 - CPN-Maoists leader Hisila Yami Saturday warned of launching another civil war if the party does not get the leadership of the next government.The Maoists do not have another alternative to civil war since the political parties, which were able to win only second, third and fourth ... ...through people's mandate, are weaving conspiracies to prevent the single largest party from a new government formation under its leadership, she added.Addressing a programme in the capital today, Yami claimed that the civil war will be launched to disband the status quoits parties and the governmental bodies hindering change.She said capturing power will be easy through civil war since the Maoists know all the secrets of the police, the army and the government after becoming a part of it.Likewise, Maoists leader Pampha Bhushal claimed that a ‘heavy battle' will take place between the party and the status quoits in the Constituent Assembly (CA).At the same programme, the Maoists leaderships said that the party's women leaders are weaker in terms of facts, statistics and remarks, although they seem matured in terms of sentiments and ideas in comparison to women leaders of other political parties.They suggested the Maoists women leaders to excel in facts, statistics and remarks stating sentiments and ideas alone are not enough to lead a government.The CPN-Maoists had previously started a civil war (1996-2006), which they termed the ‘People's War', with the aim of establishing a "People's Republic of Nepal". A Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed in November 2006 had ended the decade-long armed conflict in which thousands of civilians, Maoist guerrilla fighters and the then Royal Nepal Army personnel were killed and displaced.
