AISC formation breaches interim statute: VP Jha
KATHMANDU, Nov 5 - Vice President Paramananda Jha Wednesday remarked that the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) was formed against the spirit of interim constitution. He further expressed surprise over the apathy towards taking action against violators despite continuous infringing of the interim statute.Speaking at a programme in the capital ...
“The formation of the AISC without incorporating major parties in it is mere act of self-decision,†the vice president said, adding, “I can clearly say it has infringed the interim constitution.
VP Jha opined that the interim constitution has been breached by various political parties by organising strikes and protest programmes against autonomy. The interim constitution has the provision to go for the same, he said.
“None of the parties and groups involved in the constitution violation have been warned. Even though it is the responsibility of the president to protect the constitution and implement it, no authorized body has taken action against the breachers,†he said.
Jha, a former justice, asked the parties to comply with the agreements made in the past if they are morally aware.
The vice president went on to allege that attempts are being made to attenuate the demands of Mahdesh.
Vice President Jha said that he was bewildered for his unclear role due to lack of law.
He also said that he would choose an alternative"of resignation"if the constitution is not drafted in time stipulated i.e. within two years.
Responding to a query on how he spends his days in the office, VP Jha said he kills his time with those who come to his office seeking help.
