1200 scientists gather in capital
KATHMANDU, Nov 10 - About 1200 national and internationals scientists gathered in the capital to attend the Fifth National Conference on Science and Technology organised by National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) on Monday. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal who is also the chancellor of NAST inaugurated the conference today.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, PM Dahal informed that a science assembly will be set up soon to promote science and technology.
PM Dahal further stressed on the need for new model of development. He also pointed out the need for a conducive environment to attract Nepali intellectuals living abroad and to discourage the rampant brain drain from the country.
NAST Vice Chancellor Homnath Bhattarai opined that the conference will be an opportunity for the talented young scientists.
The conference will conclude on November 12.
