12 students injured in YCL attack

CHITWAN, Sept 5 - At least 12 activists of Nepal Students Union (NSU), student wing of the Nepali Congress, were injured in an attack by Maoist youth wing, Young Communist League (YCL) cadres at Rampur Agriculture Campus here Thursday. ...are alleged to have mobilized YCL activists to attack NSU students following a row over student transfer. Of the injured, Suk Bahadur Gurung, Ram Prasad Mainali, Subarna Acharya, Niraj Prasad Koirala and Arjun Pandey are in critical condition. They are undergoing treatment at a Bharatpur-based medical college.

Maoists threaten NC activistMaoists assaulted Lok Prasad Dhakal, 75 of Shreenathkoat – 3 in Gorkha district, Wednesday. Dhakal is chairperson of Shreenathkoat Village Unit Committee of Nepali Congress (NC) and president of Nepal Prajatantra Senani Sangh Gorkha, sister organization of NC. Issuing a statement here today, NC said Maoists also threatened Dhakal for donation.
