...for the upbringing of her children for the next 20 years.The organisation's decision to adopt Kalavati and her nine children came days after she reportedly threatened to commit suicide due to her abject poverty."Rahul Gandhi had cited her as an example of what a progressive farmer could do running into rough weather, year suicide, after failing to pay back the hefty loan."Kalavati despite being so hard-up, invested in digging a well to water her fields and thus earn a little more money from her farm," Sulabh Movement founder Bindeshwar Pathak said Notably, Sulabh is engaged in transforming the lives of scavengers and recently launched a project 'Sulabh Gaon Ki Aur' (Sulabh towards villages) to provide basic sanitation facilities in the villages.
