Amitabh pulls back 'Aladdin' from clash with 'Ghajini'

Mumbai, Oct 08: With his cool attitude and erstwhile acting style, Amitabh Bachchan is still known for giving cold feet to the actors half his age and has never shied away from any kind of competition whatsoever. But it seems that even legends get jitters when it comes to competing ...

...‘perfectionists’.

Big B has reportedly backed out of an impending clash with Mr Perfectionist. Both Big B’s adventure fantasy ‘Aladdin’ and Aamir’s ‘Ghajini’ were to hit theatres in December this year. But as filmmakers would have it, the clash between the two biggies that was slated for late this year has now been averted. And for the time being, it’s Aamir Khan who has booked the Christmas for his much-touted flick ‘Ghajini’.

So, what made Big B pull out of the BO race?

According to our sources, after the poor fate that his son’s flick ‘Drona’ met with last week, Amitabh did not want his fantasy adventure to go down the pits and wanted to leave no room for competition. So when ‘Aladdin’ filmmakers heard about Aamir’s plan, they decided to step back.

But, director Sujoy has a different story to tell. Speaking to a news daily, the director said, "Mr Bachchan has no competition and we are not worried. We are yet to finish a promotional song with Mr Bachchan, and since he was busy with ‘The Unforgettable Tour’, we could not manage to do so. The film also targets the kids and we needed an appropriate release. We had to reschedule the shooting dates and hence the delay.
